— About
Sarah Nelsen is a versatile leader in marketing and design, client partnerships, customer experience, and creative management. Armed with a blue-collar work ethic, her portfolio spans two decades of exceptional client experiences and vibrant, effective visual solutions.
Nelsen has worked with clients across the country—giving her a rare perspective on various customer and B2B demographics. She has called the mountains of the West (Jackson Hole, WY) and the deserts of the west coast (Palm Springs, CA) home, and is currently settled in the hills of western Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh, PA).
Highly motivated by the roots and growing stories of businesses, organizations, and individuals, Nelsen loves to get her hands on a project that can change minds and initiate action.
Most recently, she took the lead on an emerging large format printing business focused on wallcoverings and murals, establishing a trade account program, a new customer resource library, website launch—increasing web conversion rates and sales in the first year while raising average review rating to 4.9 of 5 from 900+ reviews. At the dawn of the Pandemic, Nelsen founded a community creative space with a focus on therapeutic visual arts for mental wellness in Wexford and the surrounding area. She was featured in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette among other local publications.
Educationally, Nelsen holds a BA in Graphic Design & Integrative Arts from Penn State and a handful of Masters courses in Sustainable Design from Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She studied graphic design and cultural studies in Sydney, Australia at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) while studying abroad.
The richness, simplicity, and rejuvenating qualities of natural outdoor spaces inspire her tremendously. She strives to make time to be present and engaged in her daughters’ and family’s lives, balanced with a love of hiking with her dog and working on their fixer-upper home. You might also find her coaching youth lacrosse, painting, writing, or checking for fresh eggs in the backyard chicken coop. It is here in Pittsburgh, where she grew up, left, and returned.
Effective change-making, relationships, and being a productive part of this crazy, modern world around us fuel her creativity and desire to strive for excellence at home and at work.
